You are the actor of your visit and you will be using your senses and feelings all along the trail.

Artemisia museum is an ingenious mix of educational panels, plants to touch, botanical illustrations to compose and fragrance galeries. We offer you an authentic multi-sensory immersion.

The little extra at the end of the trail: listen to Eugène Plauchud’s fairy tale “La Danso des parfums” written in 1894 in the sensory area.

Artemisia museum is a real playground and exploratory area for the little ones in the middle of the plants of haute Provence.

The five senses are celebrated during the visit which blends the discovery of local plants and how they are processed with natural sciences.

Artemisia museum is a project that was initiated by the Université Européenne des Saveurs & des Senteurs – UESS (European University of Scents and Flavours) and is a training, research and promotion centre dedicated to the valorisation of aromatic and cosmetic plants. Located in the prestigious Couvent des Cordeliers, Artemisia museum is also a venue for exceptional seminars.

The interactive and immersive staging of Artemisia museum invites you to dive into the captivating story of how the perfume, aromatic and medicinal plants of the Montagne de Lure – a listed Unesco site for its biodiversity – have always been grown and picked.

The permanent trail takes you on a tour following in the footsteps of the herbalists, to discover local biodiversity, lavender and alcohol distilleries, manufacterers of cosmetics and perfumes in 7 exhibition areas.
